Special Thanks!
Mar. 01, 2012
We want to send out a special thanks to all who helped make the holidays a special time for our residents through their gifts of music, and time. We would like to especially thank the following organizations for their gift donations for our resident party: St. Edwards Church, Atonement Church, New Wine Ministries, Nativity Catholic School, Oxboro Church, All State, Wixon Jewelers and the ladies of the Knights of Columbus. Everything was wonderful and appreciated by all of our residents.

Therapy Tidbits
Mar. 01, 2012
What a crazy winter! It mostly felt like spring, and I'm sure the farmers are missing all the snow. Who knows, maybe the spring will bring the snow we need! Our department has always been like its own family, and we are excited to share the news of one of our family members! Danielle (PTA) got engaged over Christmas. She is currently planning a wedding for fall 2013,

but things can change. We are so happy for our "sister" and if you see her, be sure to congratulate her! Once again, we are happy to welcome students into our fold. This spring semester is the most student-filled yet! Molly (ST) had two students this semester, Janae early in the semester and Michael late in the semester. The PTs had three students: Danielle and Aaron shared a PTA student (Becky), Scott had a RPT student (Carrie), and Michael had an RPT student (Kara). And Jenny and Dora, our wonderful OTs, also shared a student (another Becky!). Needless to say, our therapy gym was always full of eager students, excited to learn about this setting and bring fresh, fun ideas to our gym. Feel free to stop them and welcome them to our building if you see them! Once again, this spring our company will host a special class in April for all of our therapists. This is a great time to learn all sorts of new and exciting things that we can in turn bring back to our facility to help our patients get better faster or maintain their current strengths. While the PT and OT agendas are still being worked out, ST is excited to be learning how to use bio-feedback with our swallowing patients. This is a new areas for us and more details will be in the next newsletter! Molly is very excited to learn about this new technique and is eager to try it to help all of our patients that have swallowing problems. We here in therapy would like to wish all of you a happy, healthy spring! Even though we were spoiled with an easy winter, we are still excited for nicer, warmer weather and are looking forward to baseball, cookouts, flowers and all the happiness that comes with being outside more!
